Julius Caesar (Roman) and Cleopatra (Egypt)

Julius Caesar (Raman)

                                          (100-44 BC), Roman General and states man;full name Gaius Julius Caesar. He established the First Triumvirate with pompey and Crassus in 60 and became consul in 59. Between 58 and 49 he fought the Galic Wars, inbated Britan 55-54, and acquired immense power. After civil war with Pompey , which ended in Pompey's defeat at pharsalus in 48, Caesar became dicayor of the Roman Empire. He was murderd on the Ideas (15th) of March in a conspiracy led by Brutus and Gassius.

Cleopatra (Egypt)


                                (69-30 BC), queen of Egypt 47-30; the last Ptolemaic (Macedonian dynasty)ruler, also known as Cleopatra VII. After a berif liasion with Julius Caesar,  she formed a political and romatic alliance with Mark Antony. Their ambition intimately brought them into conflict with Rome, and they were defeated at the battle of Actium in 31. She is reputed to have committed suicide by allowing herself to be bitten by an asp.
